About Shaw Investigation & Research

WE STARTED AS A PRIVATE INVESTIGATION COMPANY IN CALIFORNIA, SPECIALIZING IN EMPLOYMENT AND EMPLOYEE RELATED PROGRAMS OF:

UNEMPLOYMENT TAX CONTROL, SUPERVISOR TRAINING AND COUNSELING
EMPLOYEES FORMS, ALL EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT PROBLEMS
EMPLOYEES PROCEDURES HIRING AND FIRING OF EMPLOYEES
STATE LABOR RULES AND PROCEDURES FEDERAL LABOR RULES AND PROCEDURES

Since 1971 we have provided our service to the same customers.
Over 500 companies, 6000 managers, supervisors and 125,000 employees.
We have worked to maintain the rights of all the employees as well as company owners.

Leon "Pete" Harman, founder of KFC and Harman Management Corp. has used our services for over 36 years. We appreciate the trust Pete, company officers and management staff has placed in us for so long.

At S I R, WE LIKE TO WIN. With more than 35 years of investigating employment related problems' S.I.R. WINS the claims filed by employees against employers. We stop 99% of employee related problems. How? By training and setting up the proper  paperwork to document, monitor, counsel, give one on one training to supervisors and be an information center sounding board which eliminates 99% of the problems before they start developing and keeps our customers out of hearings and courts.

We have customers who do not have the problems like most other companies.
If this was not so, our customers would not have been with us for over 35 years.

We have also found that companies who do not act to treat their employees right, DO NOT WANT US AROUND and we do not want to work for them!

DO IT RIGHT WITH A COMPREHENSIVE MANAGEMENT APPROACH,

COMBINING THE FOLLOWING HELPS:
Hiring the right employee to start.
TRAIN and INDOCTRINATION of the employees from the start (The first day.)
Learn to see and stop problems by removing them BEFORE they start or grow to big.
Use the tools of training for supervisors, giving them the understanding of employee management.
Giving information and training to management and supervisors empowers them to stop problems and run a more profitable company.
Use simple procedures to develop employees to be more favorable in their work performance so they, as well as the company, make more money.

Since 1964 the Departments of State and Federal Government have been working to close every company who will not follow the laws.
They are doing it more and more each day with the help of employees who, today, know more about their rights than the untrained supervisors.

Owners cannot run the company by the seat of their pants anymore.

In the past we have warned companies that they must change to a COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH,
not just to make them winners in employment matters, but to stay in business.

LISTEN, IMPLEMENT, STAY IN BUSINESS.
THOSE WHO DON'T
WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS.

 WHY DO MANAGERS FAIL?

THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME OF THE REASONS:

NO TRAINING GIVEN TO UPPER MANAGEMENT,
NO TRAINING GIVEN TO MIDDLE MANAGEMENT, AND
NO TRAINING GIVEN TO RANK AND FILE EMPLOYEES.

NO TRAINING OR VERY LITTLE TRAINING EVER GIVEN TO ANY ONE,
AS WELL AS NO SPECIALIZED TRAINING FOR YOUR COMPANY'S UNIQUE PROBLEMS.

Owners and managers who say they have no problems, are living in the
DARK AGES OF NO INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Supervisors Fail in Understanding:

EMPLOYEE HANDBOOKS, EMPLOYEES RIGHTS, WHAT IS SEXUAL HARASSMENT, WHAT IS DISCRIMINATION, HOW ARE COMPLAINTS FILED, HOW TO HANDLE A COMPLAINT, SUPERVISING  AN EMPLOYEE,  INDOCTRINATION FORMS, WARNING AN EMPLOYEE, HOW TO SUSPEND AN EMPLOYEE, HOW TO SEND AN EMPLOYEE HOME,  AND 75 OTHER ITEMS OF INFORMATION SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS SHOULD KNOW.
BULLETIN BOARD POSTING, DOCUMENTATION FORMS,
COMPUTER SOFTWARE.

WHO CAN STOP THE PROBLEMS?

Employers and companies do not who know how to investigate and stop claims:

Stop Unemployment Benefits Claims and save THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN TAXES.
Work Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charges and save THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
WORK SEXUAL HARASSMENT CHARGES from the beginning to the end and WIN.
